Ukrainian, adapted from Ansambl Kralytsya

We loved a recording of this song by Ensemble Kralytsya, from the National University of Culture and Arts in Kiev. Our teachers agreed that the dialect in their recording was very old, and many of the words were hard to distinguish. For that reason we’ve adapted the text based on another source recording from Zhitomir oblast in northwestern Ukraine, sung by Russian Old Believers who lived there. It has become very unique blending of ancient text and sounds. Diana Yefanova shared essential help in adapting and translating the text.
